ในที่สุดทาง Square Enix ก็ได้เปิดตัว Life is Strange ภาคใหม่เป็นที่เรียบร้อยแล้ว โดยภาคใหม่ของซีรีส์จะใช้ชื่อว่า Life is Strange: True Colors ที่จะแตกต่างจากเกมภาคก่อนหน้าในซีรีส์ ที่ในภาคนี้ จะไม่ได้ขายแยกเป็นตอนๆ อีกต่อไป และจะเป็นเนื้อเรื่องแบบเต็มๆ ในตอนที่วางจำหน่ายอย่างเป็นทางการในวันที่ 10 ก.ย. นี้

โดยผู้พัฒนา Life is Strange: True Colors ก็คือ Deck Nine Games ซึ่งเป็นทีมงานผู้อยู่เบื้องหลัง Life is Strange: Before the Storm

โดยตัวเอกหลักของ True Colors ก็คือ Alex Chen สาวลูกครึ่งเอเซียน-อเมริกัน ที่ย้ายมาอยู่กับ Gabe พี่ชายของเธอ ในเมืองสมมติที่ชื่อว่า Haven Springs ในรัฐโคโลราโด

ซึ่ง Alex ครอบครองพลังจิตพิเศษที่มีชื่อว่า Empathy ที่สามารถอ่านและจัดการกับความรู้สึกอันรุนแรงของผู้อื่นได้ โดยเธอจะมองเห็นเป็นออร่าสี แต่อารมณ์ที่ตึงเครียดเข้มข้นเกินไปก็อาจจะทำให้ Alex รับไม่ไหวได้เหมือนกัน อย่างที่หลายคนได้เห็นในวิดีโอเปิดตัว

Alex จะได้ใช้พลังของเธอ ในการค้นหาความจริงเบื้องหลังการตายจากอุบัติเหตุอันน่ากังขาของพี่ชายของเธอ ด้วยการโต้ตอบกับตัวละครอันหลากหลาย ซึ่ง 2 ตัวละครในนั้นก็คือ Ryan และ Steph (ซึ่งแฟนๆ ซีรีส์นี้ อาจจะเคยรู้จักเธอมาแล้วจากภาค Before the Storm) ที่จะมีบทบาทสำคัญในการเดินทางของ Alex รวมถึง Alex อาจจะสนใจรักใคร่ในตัว 2 คนนี้ได้ด้วย
